About us:

Luno is the crypto investment app you can rely on, enabling you to buy, store and explore crypto securely. We’re committed to putting the power of cryptocurrency in everyone's hands sensibly and responsibly.

Since 2013, we’ve helped millions of people around the world invest safely in crypto. We do this by cutting through the hype and supporting customers at every step of the way. All products and cryptocurrencies on our platform must first meet stringent legal, risk and technical security standards.

Transparency is key for us. Luno stores all crypto on a 1:1 basis and we have rigorous processes in place so you can be confident your investment is secure. We’re available in more than 40 countries around the world and we work closely with respective regulators in all of these markets to be fully compliant, as we believe this is the best way to help everyone, everywhere, invest safely.

About the team:

As part of the Product Design team, you’ll report to one of our Design Managers, who oversee specific product verticals we call “Fleets.” Our Design Managers report to Lana Glass, the Associate Director of Product Design. You’ll work closely with our Principal Product Designer, who drives design excellence across the organisation, and our UI Design Lead, who focuses on visual craft and systems, alongside a talented group of Product Designers at various levels.

Complementing this, our UX Writers ensure our designs speak clearly, consistently, and effectively to our users. Together, we collaborate in cross-functional squads to build products that empower millions to safely and confidently explore the world of cryptocurrency. Design has a proud legacy at Luno, and we’re excited to welcome a designer who shares our passion for great design and is ready to make a meaningful impact.

The role in a nutshell:

As a Product Designer, you will craft user-centred solutions within a focused product team (pod), contributing to designs that meet user needs while aligning with business goals and technical constraints. You’ll work on end-to-end design projects, from discovery to delivery, with a focus on creating impactful and high-quality work within your pod.

This role requires a strong foundation in all aspects of product design - UX, UI, interaction, and systems design. You will play an essential part in shaping the user experience and delivering outstanding design solutions for millions of customers navigating the world of cryptocurrency.

Your mission will be:

  • Deliver end-to-end product design for assigned features and projects within your pod.
  • Conduct user research and discovery to understand customer behaviours, needs, and pain points.
  • Create scalable and polished design solutions aligned with brand and technical constraints.
  • Contribute to and utilise design systems in collaboration with the UI Design Lead and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with product goals.
  • Present and communicate design decisions effectively to stakeholders, supported by data and user insights.
  • Advocate for user-centred design principles within your pod and the broader team

A little about you:

  • 4–5 years of professional experience in product design, ideally in a high-growth or large-scale organisation (e.g., fintech, SaaS, or consumer tech).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design projects, with clear outcomes and measurable impact.
  • Proficiency in UX and UI design, with attention to detail in both interaction and visual design.
  • Experience integrating qualitative and quantitative user research into your design process.
  • Familiarity with Figma and other modern design tools, as well as an understanding of design systems.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • A solid understanding of accessibility standards, usability principles, and behavioural psychology concepts.
  • Ability to manage your time and priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

This role is ideal for someone who loves working collaboratively in a focused team, enjoys solving challenging design problems, and is eager to contribute to the evolving world of cryptocurrency through impactful design work.
